I intend to bite the bullet and converse with my lawyer about any
changes which may be needed to the will, beneficiary designations,
transfers on death, or joint tenancies. Sometimes these lawyer think
of new problems they offer to solve -- and this is a replacement
lawyer, the previous one having turned into a parish administrator.
As for the real estate, the gist of my remark was that real estate
considerations are distinct from those pertaining to other assets
especially accounts at RW Baird (which I suppose are "unreal" estate).
Here is what is in that category:
1. The house. The actual plan for the house is to live here for about
10 years, sell it, and move into a luxury appartment (with a concierge
and river view). If I died early, there is currently no specific
provision; it would just fall into the estate. I intend to be more
explicit.
2. 40 acres in Manitowoc County. The will includes a specific bequest
to an individual person and an alternate specific bequest to the
Nature Conservency. Details in these provisions may have become
outdated by events and need to be reviewed.
